Andre Agassi was the quickest tennis player to win over one million dollars.
His father was a champion boxer and tennis enthusiast in Iran and, after moving to the United States, was determined that one of his children become a professional tennis player.
The children played tennis daily and, at 14, Agassi was sent to the Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida.
Two years later, Agassi became a professional tennis player and by age 18 was rated 4th best on the world tennis circuit.
He was a dedicated athlete who practised constantly on improving his shots and tennis skills.
In 1992, Agassi grew in tennis fame when he defeated two former Wimbledon champions, Boris Becker and John McEnroe.
Three years later he developed the "Agassi image" by shaving his balding head.
He also took some time out from tennis to marry a famous movie actress, Brooke Shields.
Agassi missed playing tennis and, after a quick divorce, began a training program to return to the game.
Over the years with further tennis wins and endorsements, Agassi's personal wealth grew to over $100 million
He entered marriage again by marrying another famous tennis champion, Steffi Graf.
He founded the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation in 2001 which has raised millions to help at-risk children.
Andre Agassi is the only male tennis player to have won a Career Golden Slam.
